The state of Odisha suffers from the second highest rate of malaria in India. Tribal villagers are particularly vulnerable because they live in forested areas with limited access to medical services. Tribal women also suffer from poor menstrual hygiene. At the request of villagers, Jeevan Rekha Parishad (JRP-'Lifeline') and The Advocacy Project are helping tribal women in ten villages to draw on their love of nature and knowledge of herbal products to improve their health and well-being.
